DAY 52: THE KNOT OF A SOUL TIE FROM A PAST RELATIONSHIP THAT HAS NEVER BEEN
DAY 52: THE KNOT OF A SOUL TIE FROM A PAST RELATIONSHIP THAT HAS NEVER BEEN BROKEN
Today I bring before Mary, Undoer of Knots, the painful attachment that remains in me from a past relationship. I may have left the relationship physically, but something within me still feels connected to that person through memories, emotions, desires, promises, intimacy, guilt, regret, or wounds that never fully healed. I ask Mary to place this knot before Jesus and to lead me into genuine freedom, healing, forgiveness, and peace.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Mary, my Mother, I come before you carrying a relationship that ended outwardly but has never completely ended within me. I may have moved forward with my life, but memories still return. Certain places, songs, words, dates, photographs, conversations, or moments can suddenly awaken emotions I thought were gone. Sometimes I wonder why my heart still feels connected to someone who is no longer part of my life.
Mother, take this knot into your hands and bring it to Jesus. If there are unhealthy attachments, emotional bonds, wounds, guilt, or unresolved memories keeping me connected to the past, ask your Son to bring healing and freedom. Help me release what I cannot release by my own strength and teach my heart to belong completely to God again.
“So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.” — John 8:36
There are relationships that end with a goodbye, but the heart does not always say goodbye at the same time. I may have stopped speaking to someone, deleted their number, moved to another place, entered another season of life, or even built another relationship, yet something inside me may still return to what happened. A past relationship can leave memories that remain deeply attached to my emotions. I can find myself remembering the tenderness, the intimacy, the promises, the pain, the betrayal, or even the person I was when I was with them. What has ended externally can continue internally.
Sometimes the attachment is not simply because I still love that person. It may be because I was deeply wounded and never processed what happened. It may be because I never received an apology. It may be because I still carry guilt over things I did. It may be because I keep imagining what could have happened if things had been different. It may be because I continue comparing everyone I meet with that person. It may even be because part of me is still waiting for a return that may never happen. Mary, Undoer of Knots, I bring You this complicated place in my heart and ask You to help me surrender it honestly to Jesus.
Today I do not ask God merely to make me forget a person. I ask Him to heal what the relationship left behind. I ask for freedom from unhealthy attachment, freedom from obsessive memories, freedom from guilt, freedom from resentment, freedom from emotional dependence, and freedom from anything that prevents me from loving God and living the present life He has given me. I can thank God for whatever was good without remaining imprisoned by it. I can forgive without returning. I can remember without remaining bound. Through Christ, I can walk forward without carrying the past as though it still owns my heart.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, I place before you the person from my past whose presence still seems to occupy a place within my heart. You know the history of that relationship better than anyone. You know what I gave, what I received, what I lost, what I regret, what wounded me, and what I still secretly remember. Bring all of it before Jesus and ask Him to separate me from every unhealthy attachment that keeps me from living fully in the present.
Mother, untie the knot of emotional dependence and every attachment that has remained after the relationship ended. If I continue looking backward, help me turn toward Christ. If I am holding onto memories because I fear I will never experience love again, heal that fear. If I am holding onto anger, teach me forgiveness. If I am holding onto guilt, lead me toward repentance and mercy. If I am holding onto hope that keeps me trapped in the past, teach me to surrender my future to God.
Mary, help me not to romanticize what hurt me or forget the reasons that relationship ended. Give me clarity where my emotions have become confused. Help me recognize the difference between love and attachment, forgiveness and returning, memory and bondage. Protect my present relationships from wounds that belong to my past, and teach me to love the people in my life today without making them pay for what someone else did to me.
Most Holy Mother, place my heart beneath the saving grace of Jesus. Let every unhealthy bond lose its power over me. Heal the places where intimacy created wounds, where promises created expectations, where betrayal created fear, and where separation created emptiness. May I no longer be emotionally imprisoned by someone who belongs to my past. By the grace of God, let what ended be surrendered, what was wounded be healed, and what remains of my life be offered completely to Jesus. Amen.
Today I bring before Mary, Undoer of Knots, the soul tie and unhealthy attachment that remains from a past relationship. I bring the memories that return unexpectedly, the emotions I cannot explain, the intimacy I still remember, the wounds I have not completely healed, and every part of that relationship that continues to influence my heart.
Quietly name before Mary the person or past relationship you are surrendering today. Place the memories, emotions, regrets, desires, wounds, and unanswered questions into her hands and ask her to lead you to Jesus.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, take this attachment from my heart and place it beneath the healing grace of Jesus.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, I surrender the relationship that ended but still occupies a place within me. Untie every unhealthy emotional attachment and every wound that keeps drawing my heart backward. Lead me away from what has already ended and toward the freedom Christ offers.
O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to you.
1. Mary, Undoer of Knots, help me surrender the person from my past completely to Jesus.
(One Hail Mary.)
2. Mary, Undoer of Knots, heal every wound that keeps my heart attached to what has ended.
(One Hail Mary.)
3. Mary, Undoer of Knots, teach me to walk forward without carrying my past as a chain.
(One Hail Mary.)
Lord Jesus, I place before You the memories of my past relationship that continue returning to my mind. I surrender the conversations, places, photographs, moments, affection, intimacy, promises, and experiences that still awaken emotions within me. Heal my memory so that remembering does not mean returning.
Jesus, teach me to remember without becoming imprisoned by what I remember. Let the past remain in its proper place and give me grace to live faithfully in the present.

Lord Jesus, I surrender the emotional connection that remained after the relationship ended. I may no longer be with this person, but part of my heart still reacts as though the relationship continues. Untie this attachment and restore emotional freedom within me.
Lord, help me accept what has ended. Where I still depend emotionally upon someone who is no longer part of my life, teach me to place that need into Your hands.

Lord Jesus, I place before You every form of intimacy that created a bond I have struggled to release. I surrender the memories of closeness, affection, physical intimacy, promises, and emotional vulnerability. Where these experiences have left confusion or pain within me, bring Your healing.
Jesus, restore purity, peace, and dignity to the places within me that have been wounded through past intimacy. Help me understand my past without allowing it to control my future.
Our Father...

(10 times.)
One Hail Mary and One Glory Be.
Lord Jesus, I surrender the person who hurt me. I surrender the betrayal, rejection, lies, abandonment, disappointment, or words that I still replay within myself. I do not want what happened to become the invisible chain that keeps me emotionally connected to someone who has already left my life.
Lord, give me the grace to forgive without denying what happened. Free me from the desire to keep revisiting the wound, and heal the anger that keeps giving the past power over my present.
Our Father...
On each of the 10 small beads:
Mary, Undoer of Knots, lead me from unforgiveness into the freedom of forgiveness.
(10 times.)
One Hail Mary and One Glory Be.
Lord Jesus, I bring You the things I did that I regret. I bring You my mistakes, failures, compromises, wrong decisions, and words that I wish I could take back. I surrender the guilt that continually sends me back into the same memories.
Jesus, where I have sinned, lead me sincerely into repentance and Your mercy. Where I have already repented, teach me to stop punishing myself for what You have forgiven. Let Your mercy become stronger than my regret.
Our Father...
On each of the 10 small beads:
Mary, Undoer of Knots, lead me from guilt into repentance, mercy, and freedom.
(10 times.)
One Hail Mary and One Glory Be.
Lord Jesus, I surrender the part of me that still waits. I surrender the secret expectation that this person may return, apologize, change, or somehow restore what was lost. If this hope is preventing me from accepting Your will for my life, untie it gently and completely.
Lord, I place my future into Your hands. If a door has truly closed, give me courage to accept it. Do not allow nostalgia or loneliness to make me reopen a door You are asking me to leave behind.
Our Father...
On each of the 10 small beads:
Mary, Undoer of Knots, teach my heart to surrender what God is asking me to release.
(10 times.)
One Hail Mary and One Glory Be.
Lord Jesus, I surrender the fear that my past relationship has permanently damaged my ability to love. I surrender the suspicion, comparison, insecurity, and fear of being hurt again. Heal my heart so that I do not punish my future because of what happened in my past.
Jesus, prepare my heart for whatever relationships You desire for my future. Give me wisdom to recognize healthy love, courage to trust appropriately, and grace not to carry yesterday's wounds into tomorrow's relationships.
Our Father...
On each of the 10 small beads:
Mary, Undoer of Knots, prepare my heart to love again with wisdom, freedom, and peace.
(10 times.)
One Hail Mary and One Glory Be.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, I surrender this past relationship completely. I surrender the person, the memories, the intimacy, the promises, the wounds, the regrets, and everything that still occupies a place in my heart. Take what I cannot untie and place it before Jesus, who alone can bring complete freedom to my soul.
Mother, help me stop living emotionally in a chapter that has already ended. Teach me to forgive, to repent where necessary, to learn from what happened, and to walk forward without hatred or unhealthy attachment. May the past become a lesson rather than a prison, and may my heart belong more completely to Christ each day. Amen.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, untie every unhealthy attachment connecting me to my past.
Mary, Mother of Healing, restore every wounded place within my heart.
Mary, Seat of Wisdom, guide me into relationships marked by truth, freedom, and love.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Mary, my Mother, I bring before you the person from my past who still occupies a place in my heart. I surrender the memories I revisit, the emotions that return unexpectedly, and the wounds that have never completely healed. You know what that relationship meant to me and everything it left behind. Take this entire history into your hands and lead me to Jesus, whose grace is greater than everything I have experienced.
Mother, untie every unhealthy attachment that keeps me emotionally connected to what has ended. Help me forgive without returning to what harmed me. Help me repent without remaining trapped in guilt. Help me remember without longing to live in the past. Where I still compare my present with my past, bring clarity. Where I still wait for someone who has moved on, bring acceptance. Where I still carry pain, bring healing.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, obtain for me the grace to begin again. May I no longer be defined by the relationship I lost, the mistakes I made, or the wounds I received. Let Jesus become the center of my emotional life. Untie what binds me, heal what hurts me, and lead me into the freedom to love, serve, and live again without being controlled by yesterday. Amen.
Lord Jesus, through Mary, Your Mother, I surrender every emotional attachment that remains from my past relationship. I surrender the person I cannot forget, the memories I cannot silence, the questions I cannot answer, and the wounds I cannot heal alone. I place everything into Your hands and ask You to take away anything that prevents me from living fully in Your grace.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, accompany me as I release what I have held for too long. Help me not to return to what You are calling me to leave behind. Give me courage to accept the present, faith to trust the future, and wisdom to build healthy relationships. May everything that once bound my heart become an opportunity for deeper healing and a closer relationship with Christ.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the mercy that meets me even in the complicated places of my past. Thank You that my mistakes do not have to become my identity and that my wounds do not have to determine my future. Through Mary, Undoer of Knots, lead me into the freedom that comes from Christ.
Lord Jesus, heal my heart completely. Remove every unhealthy attachment that keeps me from You and from the life You are calling me to live. Help me walk forward with peace, purity of heart, wisdom, and hope. May my past no longer possess what belongs to You. I give You my heart, my memories, my future, and my entire life. Amen.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, pray for me and untie every unhealthy attachment from my past.
Our Lady of Sorrows, comfort me in every wound that remains from what I have lost.
Mother of Good Counsel, teach me to recognize what I must release and what I must learn.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, make my heart free to love You above all things.
