DAY 38: THE KNOT OF WORDS SPOKEN AGAINST YOU THAT YOU STILL REMEMBER
For the grace to surrender to Mary, Undoer of Knots, every painful word that has remained in my heart long after it was spoken. May Jesus heal the wounds caused by insults, rejection, humiliation, criticism, curses, accusations, harsh judgments, and words spoken against me by people whose opinions deeply affected me. May He free me from the power I have allowed those words to have over my identity, confidence, relationships, and future.
May the Lord teach me to distinguish between the truth I need to receive and the words I need to release. Where someone spoke falsely about me, give me peace. Where someone's words exposed something I genuinely need to change, give me humility. Where words were spoken in anger or cruelty, heal the wound they created. Through Mary's intercession, may I no longer live according to the voices that wounded me, but according to what God says about me.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Mercy and Mother of the Word made Flesh, today I bring before Jesus the words that were spoken against me and the words I still remember. Some were spoken years ago, yet they remain alive within my memory. I remember the person who said them, the place where I heard them, the humiliation I felt, and the way those words changed how I began to see myself. Some words told me that I would never succeed, that I was worthless, that nobody would love me, that I would always fail, or that I would never become anything. Mother, take these painful memories before Jesus and ask Him to heal the wounds they created. May His Word become my refuge: “A gentle tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit” (Proverbs 15:4).
Mary, Undoer of Knots, help me stop allowing the words of wounded or angry people to become the voice that governs my life. Teach me to bring every accusation, insult, judgment, and negative declaration before Jesus and allow Him to reveal what is true. If I need to repent of something, give me humility; if I have been falsely accused, give me peace; and if someone wounded me through cruel words, give me grace not to carry their cruelty into my future. May Christ replace the words that broke my spirit with His truth, His mercy, and His love. Amen.
“The words of the wise are like goads, and like fixed nails are the collected sayings that are given by one shepherd.”
Ecclesiastes 12:11
Words can leave wounds that cannot be seen. A physical wound may eventually disappear, but a sentence spoken at the wrong moment can remain in the heart for years. Perhaps someone you trusted told you that you were a failure, that you were not attractive enough, that you would never amount to anything, that nobody would stay with you, or that you were incapable of succeeding. Perhaps a parent, relative, teacher, friend, partner, colleague, or even someone in authority spoke words that became deeply rooted in your memory. Years later, you may still hear those words whenever you face a new opportunity or experience another disappointment.
But the words spoken by people do not have the authority to define what God has created you to become. Human beings can speak from anger, jealousy, ignorance, disappointment, insecurity, or their own wounds. Some words may contain a correction that we need to examine, but others are simply cruel and untrue. The Christian response is not to pretend that painful words never happened, but to bring them before Christ and allow His truth to become greater than the voice of the person who wounded us. We do not need to spend our lives proving ourselves to those who once spoke against us.
Today, through Mary, Undoer of Knots, I bring before Jesus the words I have carried for too long. I surrender the sentence that still makes me cry, the insult that still makes me doubt myself, and the accusation that still returns whenever I try to move forward. May Christ separate truth from falsehood, correction from condemnation, and wisdom from cruelty. May He heal my memory without erasing the lessons I have learned and restore within me the confidence to become the person He created me to be.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, loving Mother, I place before you every painful word that has remained in my heart. I bring the words spoken against my character, my appearance, my abilities, my family, my future, my relationships, my faith, and my worth. I bring the words that were spoken publicly and those whispered privately. Some of them have become like voices inside my own mind, repeating themselves whenever I feel weak. Mother, carry these wounds to Jesus and ask Him to silence every voice that contradicts the truth of His love.
Mother, untie the knot created by words of rejection, humiliation, condemnation, ridicule, and false accusation. Where I have believed something about myself simply because someone repeatedly said it, help me examine it in the light of Christ. Where I have received a legitimate correction, give me humility to grow. Where I have been unjustly condemned, give me peace. Where someone deliberately wounded me with their words, help me forgive without allowing their words to become the foundation of my identity.
Mother Mary, I now place before you my particular intention today. (Mention your intention silently.) I bring before Jesus the specific words I still remember and the person or situation connected to them. I bring the sentence that continues to hurt whenever I remember it. I bring the accusation that made me doubt myself and the rejection that made me question whether I was worthy of love. Ask Jesus to enter that memory and speak His truth into the place where those words have remained. May His grace restore what those words damaged.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, teach me to speak differently about myself from this day forward. May I stop repeating against myself the words that others once spoke against me. Help me refuse to build my identity upon human approval or rejection. May Jesus teach me to see myself through His mercy, correct me where correction is needed, and strengthen me where I have been unjustly wounded. May His truth become louder than every cruel voice from my past, and may my heart finally become free from words that have controlled me for too long. Amen.
This Chaplet is prayed today for every knot created by words that wounded my heart and remained in my memory. I surrender every insult, accusation, rejection, humiliation, negative judgment, harsh criticism, and painful sentence that I continue to remember. I ask Jesus to heal the wounds created by those words and to teach me to live according to His truth rather than according to the opinions of those who have spoken against me.
I now pray this Chaplet especially for the words that wounded me most deeply and continue to affect how I see myself.
Before beginning the Chaplet, I quietly place before God the particular word, statement, accusation, or painful memory that I desire Jesus to heal.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, take these painful words before Jesus and obtain for me freedom from their lasting influence over my heart.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Mother Mary, Undoer of Knots, I bring before Jesus the words that have remained in my heart long after they were spoken. I surrender the voices that have made me doubt myself and the memories that still cause pain. May Christ replace every false judgment with His truth and every wound with His healing. Amen.
O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to you.
1. Mother Mary, Undoer of Knots, obtain healing for every word that wounded my heart. (One Hail Mary.)
2. Mother Mary, Undoer of Knots, obtain freedom from the negative words I have believed about myself. (One Hail Mary.)
3. Mother Mary, Undoer of Knots, obtain grace for me to live according to God's truth. (One Hail Mary.)
Mary, Mother of Mercy, protect me from repeating the cruel words that others once spoke against me. When I am tempted to call myself worthless, incapable, unattractive, unwanted, or destined to fail, help me reject every false judgment that contradicts God's truth. Teach me to speak about myself with the dignity of one created and loved by God. May Scripture guide me: “Death and life are in the power of the tongue” (Proverbs 18:21).
Virgin Mary, Mother of Fair Love, obtain for me freedom from every negative word I have learned to speak against myself.
Our Father...
Mary, Undoer of Knots, pray for me. (10 times.)
One Hail Mary and One Glory Be.
Mother Mary, deliver me from allowing resentment to control my heart because of the words spoken against me. Help me forgive those who wounded me without pretending that their words were acceptable. May Jesus free me from the desire to answer cruelty with cruelty and teach me to respond with truth and charity. May Scripture teach me: “Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt” (Colossians 4:6).
Virgin Mary, Mother of Fair Love, obtain for me the grace to forgive hurtful words without allowing bitterness to govern my life.
Our Father...
Mary, Undoer of Knots, pray for me. (10 times.)
One Hail Mary and One Glory Be.
Mother Mary, come to my aid when painful words return to my mind and reopen wounds I thought had healed. When a memory suddenly brings back shame, anger, sadness, or insecurity, bring me quickly into the presence of Jesus. May He remind me that the past cannot define the future He is leading me toward. May His Word strengthen me: “He heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their wounds” (Psalm 147:3).
Virgin Mary, Mother of Fair Love, obtain healing for the memories that still reopen the wounds caused by painful words.
Our Father...
Mary, Undoer of Knots, pray for me. (10 times.)
One Hail Mary and One Glory Be.
Mother Mary, comfort me when I remember words that humiliated or rejected me. Comfort the child within me who was made to feel unwanted, the young person who was told that nothing good would come from their life, and the adult who still carries the consequences of those judgments. Bring these wounds before Jesus and ask Him to restore my dignity. May His Word console me: “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted” (Psalm 34:18).
Virgin Mary, Mother of Fair Love, obtain consolation for every person whose heart was wounded by rejection, humiliation, or cruel words.
Our Father...
Mary, Undoer of Knots, pray for me. (10 times.)
One Hail Mary and One Glory Be.
Mother Mary, encourage me when the words of my past make me afraid to try again. When I hear within myself, You will fail again, Nobody will choose you, or You are not good enough, help me turn toward Jesus instead of surrendering to fear. May His truth become stronger than every voice that discourages me. May Scripture remind me: “Do not fear, for I am with you, do not be afraid, for I am your God” (Isaiah 41:10).
Virgin Mary, Mother of Fair Love, obtain courage for me to pursue what is good without allowing the judgments of others to paralyze me.
Our Father...
Mary, Undoer of Knots, pray for me. (10 times.)
One Hail Mary and One Glory Be.
Mother Mary, bring relief to the emotional wounds that have remained because of words spoken against me. When those words have affected my confidence, relationships, prayer, or ability to trust others, ask Jesus to restore what has been damaged. Help me understand that healing may take time, but I do not have to remain imprisoned by the memory. May Scripture give me hope: “A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones” (Proverbs 17:22).
Virgin Mary, Mother of Fair Love, obtain inner healing for every wound that painful words have left within my heart.
Our Father...
Mary, Undoer of Knots, pray for me. (10 times.)
One Hail Mary and One Glory Be.
Mother Mary, strengthen me when I struggle to believe that I am capable of becoming something different from what others once said about me. I surrender every label that has followed me for years. Ask Jesus to give me courage to live according to His calling rather than according to the limitations others placed upon me. May Scripture strengthen me: “I have called you by name, you are mine” (Isaiah 43:1).
Virgin Mary, Mother of Fair Love, obtain for me the strength to embrace the identity and dignity God has given me.
Our Father...
Mary, Undoer of Knots, pray for me. (10 times.)
One Hail Mary and One Glory Be.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, I thank you for helping me place before Jesus the words that have remained in my heart. I surrender every insult, accusation, rejection, humiliation, and negative judgment that has continued to influence how I see myself. May Christ heal the places where those words became wounds and free me from the need to keep proving my worth to those who once rejected me.
Mother Mary, help me remember that I am not defined by the worst thing anyone has ever said about me. Teach me to receive correction when it is true, reject false condemnation, forgive those who have wounded me, and move forward with wisdom. May the voice of Jesus become the voice I trust above every other voice. Amen.
O Mary, Undoer of Knots, untie every knot created by painful words.
O Mary, Undoer of Knots, heal every wound caused by rejection and cruel judgment.
O Mary, Undoer of Knots, lead us to the truth and mercy of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, Mother of Mercy, I bring before you the words I still remember. I bring the sentence that broke my confidence, the accusation that wounded my dignity, the insult that I have never forgotten, and the rejection that made me question my worth. I bring the voices from my past that sometimes become louder than the voice of God. Mother, take these memories before Jesus and ask Him to heal the places where those words have remained. May His truth become stronger within me than every human judgment.
Mother Mary, I now place before you my particular intention today. (Mention your intention silently.) I bring before Jesus the exact words that have wounded me most deeply. I surrender the person who spoke them and the circumstances in which they were spoken. If there is truth I need to accept, give me humility; if there is falsehood I need to release, give me freedom; if there is forgiveness I need to offer, give me grace. May Jesus remove the power these words have had over my thoughts and emotions.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, help me walk into my future without carrying every word from my past. May I no longer repeat against myself what others once said against me. May I stop measuring my worth by human approval and begin seeing myself through the eyes of Christ. Ask Jesus to restore my confidence, heal my memories, strengthen my identity, and give me the courage to become everything He is calling me to become. Amen.
Jesus, through the maternal intercession of Mary, I surrender to You every painful word that has remained in my memory. I surrender the insults, accusations, judgments, rejection, humiliation, and condemnation that I have carried. I surrender the need to prove myself to people who have misunderstood me and the desire to make them regret what they said. You know the truth about me better than any human being does. Teach me to rest in Your truth.
Mary, my Mother, I surrender the voice of the past that still speaks within me. I surrender every negative belief I accepted because someone repeated it to me. May Jesus separate truth from falsehood and give me the humility to change where I truly need to change. May He heal me where I have been unjustly wounded and give me courage to move forward without bitterness. I place every painful word into the merciful Heart of Christ and choose to believe His voice above every other voice. Amen.
Lord Jesus, I thank You for receiving the words and memories I have carried for so long. I no longer want to live under the weight of sentences spoken against me. Where those words contained truth, help me grow; where they contained cruelty or falsehood, help me release them. Heal my memory and restore my confidence in the person You created me to be.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, remain beside me and lead me always toward Jesus. May His voice become the deepest voice within my heart. May I speak words of life over myself and others, refusing to pass forward the wounds I have received. May the words of my past lose their power to control my future, and may Christ's truth, mercy, and love become the foundation upon which I build the rest of my life. Amen.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, pray for me.
Mary, Mother of Mercy, pray for me.
Mary, Mother of Divine Grace, pray for me.
Mary, Comforter of the Afflicted, pray for me.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place my trust in You.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
