DAY 25: THE KNOT OF EVERY BONDAGE IN MY FAMILY PLACED INTO THE HANDS OF MARY
DAY 25: THE KNOT OF EVERY BONDAGE IN MY FAMILY PLACED INTO THE HANDS OF MARY, UNDOER OF KNOTS
For the grace to surrender to Mary, Undoer of Knots, every bondage affecting my family, whether known or hidden, whether rooted in sinful choices, destructive habits, unresolved wounds, fear, division, addiction, bitterness, or circumstances beyond our control. May Jesus enter every area where my family needs freedom, give each person the grace to cooperate with His healing, and lead us away from whatever keeps us from living according to His truth, peace, and love.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Mercy and loving Mother, today I place my entire family into your hands and ask you to lead us to Jesus. I bring every form of bondage that has touched our lives, every habit that has become difficult to overcome, every relationship imprisoned by resentment, every heart burdened by fear, and every situation that has left someone feeling powerless. I bring before Jesus the struggles I understand and those I cannot explain, asking Him to reveal what needs healing, repentance, reconciliation, wisdom, or practical help. May His Word become my confidence: "The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?" (Psalm 27:1). May my family learn to seek our strength in God rather than in ourselves.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, I place these burdens into your maternal hands, not because I want to escape responsibility, but because I know that there are situations I cannot resolve by my own strength. Obtain for every member of my family the grace to recognize what needs to change and the courage to cooperate with God's grace. Where someone is struggling with a destructive habit, lead them toward freedom; where there is resentment, open a path toward forgiveness; where there is confusion, obtain clarity; where there is spiritual weakness, awaken faith. May the Lord's invitation reach every heart: "Seek the Lord and His strength, seek His presence continually" (1 Chronicles 16:11). May Jesus become the foundation of our family's freedom. Amen.
"Seek the Lord and His strength, seek His presence continually."
1 Chronicles 16:11
Family bondage can take many forms. Sometimes it is visible through addiction, destructive behaviour, constant conflict, financial disorder, or broken relationships. At other times it is hidden beneath silence, resentment, fear, unhealthy dependence, emotional wounds, or years of unresolved pain. One person's struggle can affect an entire household, while an unhealthy family environment can also make it harder for individuals to find freedom. When these patterns continue for a long time, the family can begin to believe that this is simply the way things are.
But bondage does not have to become our identity. Christ calls us toward freedom, while that freedom often requires honest decisions, repentance, forgiveness, boundaries, support, and perseverance. I cannot force another member of my family to change, nor should I assume responsibility for choices that belong to another person. What I can do is surrender my family to Jesus, examine my own life honestly, and become faithful in whatever responsibility God has entrusted to me. Scripture reminds me: "If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is" (Colossians 3:1). Freedom begins when our hearts turn toward Christ.
Today I place every family bondage into the hands of Mary, Undoer of Knots, asking her to lead us toward Jesus. I ask for freedom that is rooted in truth rather than fear, healing that does not deny reality, and restoration that respects the dignity and freedom of every person. May Jesus break the patterns that can be broken, heal the wounds that need healing, expose what needs to be confronted, and give us courage to seek appropriate help where necessary. May our family not remain defined by what has held us captive, but gradually become a family that knows how to choose truth, forgiveness, responsibility, prayer, and love.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, loving Mother, I place every bondage affecting my family into your hands. I bring the habits that have become destructive, the conflicts that repeatedly return, the resentments that have remained for years, the fears that control decisions, and the wounds that have influenced the way we treat one another. I bring before Jesus every member of my family, asking Him to look upon each person with mercy and to give each one the grace necessary for genuine freedom. May I trust the promise of Scripture: "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want" (Psalm 23:1). May Christ shepherd my family through every difficult valley and lead us toward what is good.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, obtain for my family the courage to confront bondage honestly rather than hiding it behind appearances. Where someone needs to repent, give them humility; where someone needs forgiveness, soften their heart; where someone needs professional or practical assistance, remove shame and fear from seeking it; and where someone needs to establish a healthy boundary, grant them wisdom and courage. Help me also to examine my own contribution to family difficulties rather than blaming everyone else. May God's Word guide us: "Let us then pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding" (Romans 14:19). May every member of my family learn to contribute to healing rather than adding another wound.
Mother Mary, I now place before you the particular family intention I carry today. (Mention your intention silently.) I bring before Jesus the person, situation, habit, conflict, or burden that most urgently needs His intervention. I ask Him to touch what I cannot reach and to provide the grace that this situation requires. May He give wisdom to those who need to make decisions, courage to those who need to change, and compassion to those who are wounded. I entrust this intention to the Lord with the words of Scripture: "Be still, and know that I am God!" (Psalm 46:10). May I learn to surrender what I cannot control while remaining faithful to what God asks me to do.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, teach my family to cooperate with the freedom Jesus offers. May we not return willingly to the patterns that have wounded us. Give us strength to choose healthier ways of speaking, relating, working, forgiving, praying, and living. May the Lord create within our family a new spirit of responsibility and mutual care. Let the truth of Scripture guide us: "Let all that you do be done in love" (1 Corinthians 16:14). May love become stronger than resentment, truth stronger than deception, self control stronger than destructive impulses, and faith stronger than fear. Through your intercession, Mother, lead my family continually toward Christ. Amen.
This Chaplet is prayed today for every bondage affecting my family. I surrender the patterns that have weakened our relationships, the habits that have become difficult to overcome, the wounds that have remained unresolved, and the circumstances that have made someone within my family feel trapped. I ask Jesus to bring freedom according to His will and to give every person the grace to cooperate with whatever healing, repentance, guidance, or practical assistance is needed.
I now pray this Chaplet especially for the family bondage that weighs most heavily upon my heart, trusting that Jesus knows every circumstance and every person involved.
Before beginning the Chaplet, I quietly place before God the particular family bondage or intention I desire to surrender.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, take my family before Jesus and intercede for every member who needs His freedom.
Mother Mary, I surrender my family's burdens to Jesus. I bring the struggles that have become difficult to overcome and the wounds that have affected the peace of our home. May Christ give each member the grace to recognize what must change and the courage to cooperate with His healing. Amen.
O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to you.
1. Mother Mary, Undoer of Knots, obtain freedom for every member of my family who is struggling with bondage. (One Hail Mary.)
2. Mother Mary, Undoer of Knots, obtain healing for the wounds that have contributed to our family struggles. (One Hail Mary.)
3. Mother Mary, Undoer of Knots, obtain wisdom for my family to make decisions that lead toward freedom. (One Hail Mary.)
1ST KNOT – IN OUR TEMPTATION: PROTECT US
Mary, Mother of Mercy, protect my family from influences and choices that can deepen existing bondage. Help us recognize danger before it becomes another wound. May the wisdom of Scripture guide us: "Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life" (Proverbs 4:23).
Intention Prayer

2ND KNOT – IN OUR SIN: DELIVER US
Mother Mary, intercede for every member of my family who is personally trapped in sinful behaviour. Ask Jesus to awaken sincere repentance and remove the shame that prevents someone from admitting that help is needed. May His Word guide us: "If we confess our sins, He who is faithful and just will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).

3RD KNOT – IN OUR DISTRESS: SUCCOR US
Mother Mary, come to the aid of my family when our burdens become overwhelming. Bring before Jesus those who feel trapped, exhausted, confused, or unable to see a way forward. May the Lord's promise sustain us: "The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble" (Psalm 9:9).
Intention Prayer
Virgin Mary, Mother of Fair Love, obtain consolation and practical wisdom for every member of my family who is overwhelmed.

4TH KNOT – IN OUR SORROW: COMFORT US
Mother Mary, bring comfort to the members of my family who have been wounded by years of conflict, disappointment, rejection, loss, or betrayal. Ask Jesus to heal the sorrow beneath the outward behaviour. May His Word console us: "The God of all consolation, who consoles us in all our affliction" (2 Corinthians 1:3–4).
Intention Prayer
Virgin Mary, Mother of Fair Love, obtain healing for the sorrow that has remained beneath the surface of our family struggles.
Our Father...
Mary, Undoer of Knots, pray for my Family. (10 times.)
One Hail Mary and One Glory Be.
5TH KNOT – IN OUR FEAR: ENCOURAGE US
Mother Mary, encourage my family when fear makes us believe that change is impossible. Help us take one faithful step at a time rather than allowing anxiety to determine our future. May God's Word give us courage: "I am confident of this, that I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living" (Psalm 27:13).
Intention Prayer
Virgin Mary, Mother of Fair Love, obtain renewed hope for my family when past failures make us doubt the possibility of change.
Our Father...
Mary, Undoer of Knots, pray for my Family. (10 times.)
One Hail Mary and One Glory Be.
6TH KNOT – IN OUR ILLNESS: ALLEVIATE US
Mother Mary, bring before Jesus every physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual suffering connected to the struggles within my family. May those who are suffering receive appropriate care and compassionate support. May the Lord's mercy accompany them: "My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever" (Psalm 73:26).
Intention Prayer
Virgin Mary, Mother of Fair Love, intercede for every suffering member of my family and obtain the strength needed for each day.
Our Father...
Mary, Undoer of Knots, pray for my Family. (10 times.)
One Hail Mary and One Glory Be.
7TH KNOT – IN OUR WEAKNESS: STRENGTHEN US
Mother Mary, strengthen my family when freedom requires perseverance. Help us understand that healing may involve many faithful steps rather than one dramatic moment. May we receive the wisdom of Scripture: "Let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us" (Hebrews 12:1).
Intention Prayer
Virgin Mary, Mother of Fair Love, obtain perseverance for my family so that we do not abandon the journey toward healing when progress becomes difficult.
Our Father...
Mary, Undoer of Knots, pray for my Family. (10 times.)
One Hail Mary and One Glory Be.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, I thank you for receiving the burdens of my family and carrying them before Jesus. I surrender the things I cannot control and acknowledge the responsibilities that belong to me. May Christ give every member of my family the grace to face bondage honestly, seek appropriate help, accept correction, forgive where possible, and make the changes necessary for a healthier life. May no one remain imprisoned simply because we are afraid to admit that we need help.
Mother Mary, continue to intercede for my family as we seek freedom. May Jesus teach us to recognize the difference between genuine spiritual struggle and the practical problems that require responsible action. Give us wisdom to pray faithfully while also taking the necessary steps toward healing, reconciliation, accountability, and restoration. May our family gradually become a place where people can find truth, safety, forgiveness, responsibility, and love. Amen.
O Mary, Undoer of Knots, take every bondage affecting my family before your Son, Jesus Christ.
O Mary, Undoer of Knots, obtain for every member of my family the grace to recognize, confront, and overcome whatever keeps them from living in freedom.
O Mary, Undoer of Knots, lead my family into the healing, truth, peace, and freedom that come from Jesus Christ. Amen.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, Mother of Mercy, today I place every bondage affecting my family into your hands. I bring the struggles that have become difficult to overcome, the habits that have damaged our peace, the conflicts that have divided us, and the wounds that continue to influence our relationships. Carry these burdens before Jesus and ask Him to bring His light into every hidden place. May His promise sustain us: "The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it" (John 1:5). May the light of Christ penetrate every darkness affecting my family.
Mother Mary, I now place before you my particular family intention. (Mention your intention silently.) I entrust to Jesus the person, situation, habit, relationship, or burden that concerns me most deeply. I ask for freedom according to God's wisdom and for the grace to cooperate with the help He provides. May the Lord establish within my family what we cannot establish by ourselves: "Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain" (Psalm 127:1). May Christ Himself become the foundation upon which our family is rebuilt.
Beloved Mother, teach us not to remain attached to what Jesus is asking us to surrender. May we release resentment, abandon destructive habits, seek reconciliation where possible, accept responsibility for our own actions, and pursue whatever practical help is necessary. May our family learn to walk in the newness that Christ offers. Let the words of Scripture become our prayer: "Create a clean heart in me, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me" (Psalm 51:10). Mary, Undoer of Knots, continue leading every member of my family toward Jesus, the source of our true freedom. Amen.
Mary, my Mother, I surrender to Jesus every bondage affecting my family. I surrender the struggles I cannot solve, the people I cannot control, the wounds I cannot heal by myself, and the circumstances whose outcome I cannot determine. I surrender my fear that things will never change and ask for the grace to trust God's work while remaining faithful to my responsibilities. May I hold firmly to the words: "My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth" (Psalm 121:2).
Mother Mary, I place every member of my family into the hands of Christ. Where freedom requires repentance, may He give us humility. Where it requires forgiveness, may He soften our hearts. Where it requires distance from something harmful, may He give us courage. Where it requires professional assistance, may He remove shame. Where it requires patient perseverance, may He give us endurance. I surrender our family completely to Jesus and ask that His will become the path by which we are restored. Amen.
Holy Mother, beloved Undoer of Knots, thank you for receiving every bondage I have brought before you. I leave these burdens with Jesus, trusting that His grace can work in ways I cannot see. May every member of my family receive the particular grace needed for their own journey. May those who are struggling find courage, those who have fallen find repentance, those who are wounded find healing, and those who have become discouraged discover hope again.
Remain with my family, Mother, and keep leading us toward Christ. May Jesus teach us to recognize bondage without becoming prisoners of fear, to seek freedom without denying our responsibilities, and to pursue healing without losing patience. May our family grow in truth, self control, forgiveness, compassion, and faith. May what has held us captive lose its influence, and may Christ's freedom become increasingly visible in the way we live and love one another. Amen.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, pray for my family.
Mary, Mother of Mercy, pray for my family.
Mary, Queen of Peace, pray for my family.
Mary, Refuge of Sinners, pray for my family.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, free my family from every bondage and draw us into Your peace. Amen.
