DAY 23: THE KNOT OF EVERY CHAIN HOLDING MY FAMILY CAPTIVE
DAY 23: THE KNOT OF EVERY CHAIN HOLDING MY FAMILY CAPTIVE
For the grace to surrender to Mary, Undoer of Knots, every chain, burden, wound, division, destructive pattern, and persistent struggle affecting my family. May Jesus bring freedom where there is bondage, reconciliation where there is division, healing where there are wounds, peace where there is conflict, and restoration where years of hardship have left my family weary. May every member of my family be drawn closer to Christ and receive the grace necessary to walk in His truth and freedom.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Mercy and my loving Mother, today I bring my entire family before Jesus. I bring every burden that has become too heavy for us, every conflict that has remained unresolved, every relationship that has been wounded, every destructive pattern that keeps appearing, and every circumstance that seems to hold members of my family captive. I bring the struggles that are visible and those hidden behind silence, the tears that have been shed and the burdens that have never been spoken. Mother, carry my family before Jesus and ask Him to visit every place where we need His saving grace. Strengthen my heart with God's promise that: "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?" (Psalm 27:1). May the light of Christ shine upon my family.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, intercede for my family and obtain for us the grace to recognize whatever is keeping us from living in the freedom of Christ. Where there is hatred, obtain the grace of forgiveness; where there is division, seek reconciliation; where there is addiction, seek freedom; where there is fear, seek courage; and where there is spiritual weakness, awaken a deeper hunger for God. May the Lord's invitation become alive within my family: "Return to Me with all your heart" (Joel 2:12). May Jesus draw each member of my family closer to Himself and begin a work of renewal that reaches every wounded relationship. Amen.
"He brought them out of darkness and gloom, and broke their chains in two."
Psalm 107:14
A family can carry burdens that seem to become part of its identity. There may be years of conflict, addiction, financial hardship, broken relationships, resentment, repeated failures, spiritual neglect, or painful divisions that make family members wonder whether anything can ever change. Sometimes one person's struggle affects everyone else, and the whole household begins to live under the weight of a problem that seems impossible to overcome. When this happens, I can easily become discouraged and wonder whether my family will ever experience genuine peace.
But I must remember that Jesus is not powerless before the burdens my family carries. He can work through repentance, forgiveness, wise decisions, professional help where needed, prayer, reconciliation, and the faithful cooperation of each person. I cannot force another person to change, but I can place my family before Christ and ask Him to transform what is within our reach. Scripture gives me this assurance: "If the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36). The freedom of Christ is not merely an idea; it is an invitation to allow His grace to change the way we live.
Today, through Mary, Undoer of Knots, I bring every chain affecting my family to Jesus. I ask Him to break the cycles that have kept us wounded and to give each member the grace needed for repentance, healing, reconciliation, wisdom, and freedom. May Jesus enter our homes, our conversations, our relationships, our decisions, and our struggles. May He teach us to stop passing wounds from one person to another and instead become instruments of healing. May the freedom that begins in one heart gradually become a blessing to the whole family.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, loving Mother, I place my family into your maternal care today. I bring every chain that has weighed upon us, every burden that has caused repeated suffering, every division that has separated us, and every wound that has prevented us from living together in peace. You know the struggles within my family better than I can explain them. Take these burdens before Jesus and ask Him to enter every situation with His mercy and transforming grace. Strengthen my heart with God's promise that: "The Lord is good; His steadfast love endures forever, His faithfulness to all generations" (Psalm 100:5). May His faithfulness sustain my family through every difficult season.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, intercede for every member of my family according to the particular burdens each person carries. Where someone is trapped in an addiction, obtain the courage to seek freedom. Where someone is consumed by anger, obtain the grace of self control. Where there is unforgiveness, soften the heart. Where there is estrangement, create a path toward reconciliation where it is safe and possible. Where someone has abandoned prayer, awaken the desire to seek God again. Strengthen my heart with God's promise that: "The Lord gives strength to His people; the Lord blesses His people with peace" (Psalm 29:11). May the peace of Christ begin to touch every member of my family.
Mother Mary, I now place before you the particular intention I carry for my family today. (Mention your intention silently.) I bring before Jesus the person, relationship, circumstance, or burden within my family that causes me the greatest concern. I ask Him to touch what I cannot reach, heal what I cannot heal, and provide what I cannot provide. May His Word guide my prayer: "The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth" (Psalm 145:18). May Jesus hear the cry of my family and give us the grace to cooperate with whatever He asks of us.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, help me become an instrument of peace within my family. Keep me from adding new wounds to old wounds, and teach me to respond with patience, truth, forgiveness, and wisdom. May I not try to control what belongs to another person's freedom, but may I faithfully do what God asks of me. Strengthen my heart with God's promise that: "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God" (Matthew 5:9). May Jesus use my life as a small beginning of reconciliation and may His grace gradually bring greater freedom, healing, and peace to my family. Amen.
This Chaplet is prayed today for every chain holding my family captive. I bring before Jesus the burdens, divisions, addictions, wounds, fears, conflicts, destructive patterns, and persistent struggles affecting my family. I ask the Lord to bring freedom where there is bondage, reconciliation where there is division, healing where there is pain, and wisdom where difficult decisions must be made.
I now pray this Chaplet especially for the member or situation within my family that weighs most heavily upon my heart, trusting that Jesus knows every person by name and understands every burden carried within our home.
Before beginning the Chaplet, I quietly place before God the particular family burden or intention I desire to surrender.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, take my family before Jesus and intercede for every member according to their needs.

Mother Mary, strengthen my family where our human strength is insufficient. May Jesus give us the grace to support one another rather than turning against one another. May Scripture guide us: "Bear one another's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ" (Galatians 6:2).
Virgin Mary, Mother of Fair Love, obtain for my family the grace to stand together in love, patience, prayer, and mutual support.
Our Father...
Mary, Undoer of Knots, pray for my Family. (10 times.)
One Hail Mary and One Glory Be.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, I thank you for carrying my family before Jesus. I have placed before Him the chains that have weakened our relationships, the burdens that have exhausted us, and the wounds that have remained unresolved. I now entrust every member of my family to His mercy, asking Him to work in each heart according to that person's freedom and need. May His presence enter our home and bring the peace that only He can give.
Mother Mary, continue to intercede for my family. Teach us to stop repeating the wounds that have hurt us and to become instruments of healing for one another. May Christ give us wisdom to confront what must be confronted, courage to seek help where help is needed, humility to apologize, grace to forgive, and patience to rebuild what has been damaged. May our family increasingly become a place where faith is lived, love is practiced, and Christ is honored. Amen.
O Mary, Undoer of Knots, intercede for my family and ask Jesus to break every chain that keeps us from His peace.
O Mary, Undoer of Knots, obtain healing, reconciliation, freedom, and renewed faith for every member of my family.
O Mary, Undoer of Knots, lead my family to Jesus Christ, that His love may become stronger among us than every burden that divides us. Amen.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, Mother of Mercy, today I entrust my entire family to you. I bring every chain that has affected our relationships, every burden that has exhausted us, every struggle that has divided us, and every wound that has remained hidden behind silence. Ask Jesus to visit every member of my family with His mercy and to bring freedom where there is genuine bondage. May I trust the promise of Scripture: "The Lord will give strength to His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace" (Psalm 29:11). May His peace begin to reign within my family.
Mother Mary, I now place before you my particular family intention. (Mention your intention silently.) I bring before Jesus the person, relationship, conflict, addiction, suffering, financial burden, or family circumstance that causes me the greatest concern. You know the situation more completely than I do. Obtain for us the grace we need and teach me to cooperate with God's work rather than trying to control what belongs to another person's freedom. May Jesus' words become our hope: "Come to Me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28).
Beloved Mother, help me become a source of healing within my family. May I not repay anger with anger, rejection with rejection, or hurt with another wound. Give me the wisdom to speak when I should speak, remain silent when silence is wiser, forgive when forgiveness is possible, and establish healthy boundaries when they are necessary. May Christ's grace teach us to live according to the words: "Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in the one body" (Colossians 3:15). Mary, Undoer of Knots, lead my family continually toward Jesus and obtain for us the grace to walk together in His peace. Amen.
Mary, my Mother, I surrender my family completely to Jesus. I surrender the people I love, the situations I cannot control, the conflicts I cannot resolve by myself, and the burdens that have become too heavy for my heart. I surrender my desire to force another person to change and ask instead for grace to be faithful to what God asks of me. May I trust the words of Scripture: "Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you" (Psalm 55:22).
Mother Mary, help me entrust every member of my family to the mercy of Christ. Where I can help, give me generosity; where I need to apologize, give me humility; where I need to forgive, give me grace; where I need to establish a boundary, give me wisdom; and where I must simply pray and wait, give me patience. I place my family beneath the care of Jesus and ask that His will, rather than my fear, guide us. Amen.
Holy Mother, beloved Undoer of Knots, thank you for receiving my family into your maternal intercession. I leave before Jesus every chain, burden, conflict, wound, and struggle that I cannot resolve through my own strength. May His grace reach every member of my family, including those who are far away, those who are wounded, those who have lost their faith, and those who do not yet recognize how deeply they need God.
Remain with my family, Mother, and lead us toward your Son. May our home become increasingly marked by forgiveness instead of resentment, prayer instead of spiritual neglect, truth instead of deception, peace instead of hostility, and love instead of division. May Jesus break what needs to be broken, heal what needs to be healed, restore what can be restored, and give each of us the grace to cooperate with Him. May our family belong more deeply to Christ with every passing day. Amen.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, pray for my family.
Mary, Mother of Mercy, pray for my family.
Mary, Queen of Peace, pray for my family.
Mary, Help of Christians, pray for my family.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on my family and reign in our home. Amen.
