DAY 16: THE KNOT OF INCURABLE DISEASE, SICKNESS AND PROLONGED DELAYED HEALING
DAY 16: THE KNOT OF INCURABLE DISEASE, SICKNESS AND PROLONGED DELAYED HEALING
For the grace to surrender to Mary, Undoer of Knots, every incurable disease, chronic sickness, prolonged illness, unexplained condition, recurring pain, physical weakness, emotional exhaustion, and every healing that has been delayed despite many prayers and treatments. May Jesus bring healing according to His holy will, strengthen those who are suffering, guide doctors and caregivers with wisdom, sustain those whose healing has been delayed, and give every sick person courage, peace, hope, and the grace to remain close to Him throughout the journey.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Compassion and Health of the Sick, today I come before you carrying the knot of sickness that has continued for far too long. I bring before you every disease that doctors have called incurable, every illness that has resisted treatment, every pain that has returned again and again, every diagnosis that has frightened me, every weakness that has made ordinary life difficult, and every healing that seems painfully delayed. Mother, you know the tears that have fallen because of this sickness, the prayers that have been repeated, the treatments that have been tried, and the moments when discouragement has whispered that nothing will ever change. I place this suffering into your maternal hands and ask you to carry it before Jesus. Strengthen my heart with God's promise that: "I will restore health to you, and your wounds I will heal, says the Lord" (Jeremiah 30:17). May this promise give me hope even while I continue to wait.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, when prolonged sickness makes me tired of praying, tired of waiting, and afraid of what tomorrow may bring, lead me closer to Jesus rather than allowing suffering to separate me from Him. Strengthen my heart with God's promise that: "He gives power to the faint, and strengthens the powerless" (Isaiah 40:29). May Jesus give me strength when my body is weak, courage when I am afraid, patience when healing is delayed, and peace when I do not understand why this suffering continues. Mother, intercede for me before Jesus, asking Him to bless every treatment, guide every medical decision, strengthen every caregiver, and bring healing according to His holy will. Amen.
"Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church and let them pray over him."
James 5:14
There is a particular heaviness that comes with prolonged sickness. At the beginning, I may pray with great expectation, believing that healing will come quickly. But when days become months, and months become years, the waiting itself can become another wound. I may begin to wonder why God has not answered the way I hoped. I may become exhausted from treatments, appointments, medication, financial costs, physical pain, and the uncertainty of what tomorrow will bring. I may watch other people receive answers to prayers while my own healing seems delayed. Yet the delay of healing does not mean that God has stopped seeing me. My suffering is not invisible to Him.
Throughout Scripture, I encounter people who waited for God's intervention in circumstances that seemed impossible. The woman who had suffered from hemorrhages for twelve years had spent everything she had seeking help, yet she continued to suffer until she encountered Jesus (Mark 5:25–34). Her long suffering did not make her forgotten. Jesus saw her faith and brought healing into her life. At the same time, Scripture also teaches me that God's presence remains with those whose healing journey is difficult and prolonged. St. Paul prayed repeatedly concerning his own suffering, yet received the answer: "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness" (2 Corinthians 12:9). Therefore, I can pray boldly for healing while also surrendering the manner and timing of that healing to God.
Today, through Mary, Undoer of Knots, I bring before Jesus every sickness that has become a knot in my life. I bring the disease that has been called incurable, the pain that has refused to disappear, the condition that nobody seems able to explain, and the healing that I have waited for longer than I ever imagined. I ask Jesus to bring His healing mercy upon me, while giving me grace to continue receiving appropriate medical care and support. May He heal my body if it is His will, strengthen me where healing is still being awaited, protect me from despair, and keep my heart anchored in Him. May my sickness never become stronger than my faith, and may my prolonged waiting never convince me that God has abandoned me.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, Mother of Compassion, today I place into your maternal hands every sickness that has become a prolonged burden in my life. I bring the disease that has been called incurable, the condition that has remained despite treatment, the pain that has continued for years, the weakness that limits my daily life, and every diagnosis that has filled my heart with fear. Mother, you know the nights when pain has made sleep difficult, the mornings when I have awakened already exhausted, and the moments when I have wondered whether I will ever feel well again. Take this knot before Jesus and ask Him to touch me with His healing mercy. Strengthen my heart with God's promise that: "He heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their wounds" (Psalm 147:3). May Jesus bring His healing to every wounded place within me.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, I ask you to intercede for every person whose healing has been delayed for so long that hope has become difficult. Bring before Jesus those who have received frightening diagnoses, those whose illnesses have become chronic, those who live with daily pain, those whose conditions have been declared incurable, and those who have exhausted themselves seeking answers. Strengthen my heart with God's promise that: "I am the Lord who heals you" (Exodus 15:26). May I place my sickness before the Lord without fear. May Jesus guide my doctors, nurses, therapists, caregivers, and everyone involved in my care. Give them wisdom, patience, compassion, and clarity. May every appropriate treatment become an instrument through which God's providence works in my life.
Mary, I now place before you the particular sickness, disease, or delayed healing that weighs most heavily upon my heart. (Mention it silently before God.) I bring the diagnosis, the symptoms, the pain, the test results, the treatment, the medication, the uncertainty, and the fear surrounding this illness. Mother, carry all of this before Jesus and ask Him to enter every part of my suffering. Strengthen my heart with God's promise that: "My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever" (Psalm 73:26). May Jesus become my strength when my body is weak. May He sustain me when I cannot understand what is happening. May He give me courage to continue seeking appropriate care and grace to persevere when the road toward healing becomes long.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, untie the knot of fear that has formed around my diagnosis. Untie the knot of discouragement created by delayed healing. Untie the knot of anxiety concerning the future. Untie the knot of exhaustion that comes from fighting the same battle day after day. Ask Jesus to give me peace in the midst of uncertainty and hope in the midst of suffering. Strengthen my heart with God's promise that: "Do not fear, for I am with you, do not be afraid, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand" (Isaiah 41:10). May I receive these words personally. When I am afraid, may I remember that God is with me. When I am weak, may He strengthen me. When I feel unable to continue, may His grace uphold me. Amen.
This Chaplet is prayed today for the knot of incurable disease, prolonged sickness, and delayed healing. I place before Jesus every diagnosis, every chronic condition, every recurring illness, every unexplained symptom, every physical weakness, every treatment, every medical appointment, and every prayer for healing that appears unanswered. Through the maternal intercession of Mary, Undoer of Knots, I ask Jesus to bring healing according to His holy will, strengthen those who remain sick, guide those who care for them, and preserve every suffering heart from despair.
I now pray this Chaplet especially for the sickness or delayed healing that weighs most heavily upon my heart, trusting that Jesus sees every symptom, every tear, and every moment of suffering.
Before beginning the Chaplet, I quietly place before God the particular sickness or healing intention I am carrying today.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, take this sickness into your maternal hands and lead me to Jesus, the Divine Physician and source of every grace.

Holy Mother, beloved Undoer of Knots, I thank you for receiving the sickness and delayed healing that I have placed into your maternal hands. I surrender my diagnosis, my symptoms, my pain, my fears, my treatments, and my unanswered questions. I ask Jesus to bring healing where healing is needed, strength where healing is delayed, wisdom where decisions must be made, and peace where fear has taken root. May I never allow the length of my illness to convince me that God has forgotten me.
Mother, remain beside me throughout this difficult journey. When my body is weak, lead me to Jesus. When I am discouraged, remind me of His faithfulness. When treatment is difficult, give me courage. When healing is delayed, give me patience. When I am afraid, obtain for me peace. May Jesus guide me through every stage of this illness and, according to His holy will, untie every knot of sickness and prolonged suffering. May my life remain anchored in Him whether healing comes suddenly, gradually, through treatment, through unexpected means, or through the grace to persevere one day at a time. Amen.
O Mary, Undoer of Knots, intercede for me in every sickness that has become prolonged and difficult to bear.
O Mary, Undoer of Knots, place my disease, my pain, and my delayed healing before Jesus, the Divine Physician.
O Mary, Undoer of Knots, obtain for me healing according to God's holy will, strength for today, and hope for tomorrow. Amen.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, Mother of Compassion and Health of the Sick, today I place into your maternal hands the illness that has become a long and painful journey. You know the diagnosis that frightened me, the symptoms that have continued, the treatment that has not brought the answer I hoped for, and the healing I have waited for with tears in my eyes. You know how difficult it is to keep believing when I have prayed again and again and my condition remains. Mother, take this knot before Jesus and ask Him to look upon me with His mercy. Strengthen my heart with God's promise that: "He gives power to the faint, and strengthens the powerless" (Isaiah 40:29). May Jesus become my strength precisely where sickness has made me weak.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, untie the knot of fear surrounding my diagnosis. Untie the knot of discouragement caused by delayed healing. Untie the knot of exhaustion created by prolonged treatment. Untie the knot of anxiety concerning what tomorrow may bring. Ask Jesus to give me courage to continue seeking appropriate care and faith to remain close to Him throughout this journey. Strengthen my heart with God's promise that: "I have called you by name, you are Mine" (Isaiah 43:1). May I remember that my illness does not change my dignity before God. I belong to Him even in weakness, even in pain, even in uncertainty, and even when healing seems far away.
Beloved Mother, I bring before Jesus the particular healing I have been waiting for. (Mention it silently before God.) I ask Him to touch every diseased part of my body, every place of pain, every weakness, every organ, every cell, and every condition known to Him. I ask Him to bless the treatment I receive, guide the hands and minds of those caring for me, reveal what needs to be known, and open every appropriate path toward healing. Strengthen my heart with God's promise that: "He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one" (2 Thessalonians 3:3). May Jesus protect me from despair and sustain me through every stage of my illness. If healing is gradual, give me patience. If healing requires treatment, give me wisdom. If I need rest, give me permission to rest. If I need support, give me humility to receive it.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, remain beside me when I cannot understand why healing has taken so long. Help me to pray without losing heart and to trust without pretending that the suffering does not hurt. May Jesus teach me to place each day into His hands rather than living constantly in fear of what may happen tomorrow. Strengthen my heart with God's promise that: "My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth" (Psalm 121:2). May my help come from the Lord through every means He chooses. May He heal my body according to His holy will, strengthen my soul in the waiting, comfort those who care for me, and transform this painful season into a deeper encounter with His mercy. Mary, Undoer of Knots, lead me continually to Jesus, and never allow my sickness to separate me from His love. Amen.
Mary, my Mother, I surrender to Jesus this illness that I cannot control. I surrender the diagnosis, the symptoms, the pain, the treatment, the uncertainty, and the timeline of my healing. I surrender the question of when I will become well again. Strengthen my heart with God's promise that: "My times are in Your hand" (Psalm 31:15). May I place my life and my future into God's hands without surrendering hope.
Mother Mary, help me to cooperate faithfully with the care and treatment available to me while keeping my heart anchored in Jesus. May I have wisdom to follow appropriate medical advice, courage to seek help when I need it, and faith to continue praying for healing. I surrender my fear of the future and ask Jesus to give me grace for today. May His presence sustain me through every appointment, every treatment, every difficult night, and every day when my body feels weak. Amen.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, as I complete this sixteenth day, I leave my sickness and delayed healing in your maternal hands. I surrender the pain I understand and the symptoms I cannot explain. I surrender the diagnosis that frightened me and the healing I have waited for. May Jesus touch me with His mercy, guide those who care for me, and give me strength for every stage of this journey. I ask Him for healing with faith, while surrendering the timing and manner of healing to His holy will.
Mother, remain beside me when the waiting becomes difficult. When I feel forgotten, lead me to Jesus. When I am afraid, remind me that He is with me. When my body is weak, obtain for me strength. When healing is delayed, obtain for me patience and hope. May this illness never become the measure of God's love for me. Through your maternal intercession, may Jesus untie every knot of sickness, prolonged suffering, and delayed healing according to His perfect will, and may I remain faithful to Him through every season. Amen.
