DAY 13: THE KNOT OF DEBT THAT HAS BECOME IMPOSSIBLE TO ESCAPE
For the grace to surrender to Mary, Undoer of Knots, every debt that has become overwhelming, every unpaid obligation, every financial burden, every creditor, every accumulated bill, every financial mistake, and every fear caused by being unable to see a way out. May Jesus Christ untie every knot of financial bondage, give me wisdom and discipline to manage what I have, provide honest opportunities for repayment and increase, open doors according to God's will, and lead me gradually into financial freedom, peace, responsibility, and stability.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Divine Providence and my loving Mother, today I come before you carrying the heavy knot of debt that has become difficult for me to escape. You know every unpaid bill, every loan, every financial obligation, every creditor I am worried about, every promise I made to repay, and every night I have gone to sleep wondering how I will meet my responsibilities. You know the shame that can come when I cannot provide what is required, the fear that rises when another bill arrives, and the exhaustion of trying to solve one financial problem while another appears. Mother, I place all of this into your maternal hands and ask you to carry it before Jesus. Strengthen my heart with God's wisdom that: "The borrower is the slave of the lender" (Proverbs 22:7). May this truth not condemn me but awaken within me the grace to become responsible, disciplined, wise, and determined to walk toward freedom.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, when debt makes me feel trapped and unable to see a way forward, lead me to Jesus and teach me not to surrender to despair. Help me face my financial situation honestly, make wise decisions, seek appropriate counsel, and take every responsible step necessary to overcome this burden. Strengthen my heart with God's promise that: "The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance" (Proverbs 21:5). May diligence replace discouragement, wisdom replace confusion, discipline replace careless decisions, and hope replace fear. Mother, intercede for me before Jesus and ask Him to open honest paths of provision, bless the work of my hands, and give me the perseverance to continue faithfully until this burden is brought under control. Amen.
"The wicked borrow, and do not pay back, but the righteous are generous and keep giving."
Psalm 37:21
Debt can become a knot that affects almost every part of life. It can steal sleep, create tension within families, delay important plans, produce shame, and make the future appear frightening. I may work hard and still feel that my income disappears immediately because of obligations accumulated over time. I may have made financial mistakes that I now deeply regret, or circumstances beyond my control may have pushed me into borrowing simply to survive. Whatever the circumstances, I can bring my financial reality honestly before God. I do not need to hide my situation from Him. He already knows what I owe, what I earn, what I lack, and what I fear.
Scripture teaches me that God desires me to live with wisdom, honesty, diligence, and responsibility. The story of the widow whose debts threatened her family shows me a woman who brought her desperate situation before the prophet Elisha, and God provided a way for her to use what she had, multiply the oil, sell it, pay her debt, and live from what remained (2 Kings 4:1–7). I receive this story not as a promise that every debt will disappear miraculously, but as an invitation to trust God while also acting faithfully. I ask Him to show me what I have overlooked, give me wisdom concerning my resources, provide opportunities for honest work, and help me make decisions that gradually lead me toward freedom.
Today I refuse to allow debt to become my identity. I may owe money, but I am not worthless. I may have made financial mistakes, but my mistakes do not determine my future. I may be struggling today, but this does not mean that I will struggle forever. Through the maternal intercession of Mary, Undoer of Knots, I place every financial burden before Jesus. May He untie the knots created by poor decisions, unexpected hardship, insufficient income, accumulated obligations, and financial confusion. May He give me courage to face my debts honestly, wisdom to create a responsible path forward, discipline to follow it, and faith to trust God throughout the process.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, Mother of Divine Providence, today I place into your maternal hands every debt that has become impossible for me to escape. I bring you every unpaid bill, every loan, every financial obligation, every creditor, every financial promise I am struggling to fulfill, and every burden that follows me from one day into another. You know the fear that enters my heart when I think about what I owe and the shame I sometimes feel because I cannot settle everything at once. Mother, take this knot before Jesus and ask Him to give me wisdom, courage, discipline, and a way forward. Strengthen my heart with God's promise that: "It is better to be a little that the righteous person has than the abundance of many wicked" (Psalm 37:16). May I learn to value honest provision, contentment, responsible stewardship, and the peace that comes from living according to God's will.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, I ask you to intercede for me where debt has become a source of constant anxiety and discouragement. Ask Jesus to open honest opportunities through which I can meet my obligations, increase my income, use my abilities wisely, and gradually recover financial stability. Strengthen my heart with God's promise that: "A good person deals generously and lends; he conducts his affairs with justice" (Psalm 112:5). Lord Jesus, teach me to become faithful with whatever You place in my hands. Give me wisdom to distinguish necessities from unnecessary spending, courage to make difficult financial decisions, discipline to resist harmful financial habits, and humility to seek wise counsel when I need it. Where I have made mistakes, give me the grace to correct them rather than hide from them. Where circumstances have overwhelmed me, give me strength to rebuild patiently.
Mary, I now place before you the particular debt and financial burden that weighs most heavily upon my heart. (Mention it silently before God.) I bring the amount I owe, the people or institutions to whom I am indebted, the bills waiting to be paid, and every financial responsibility that has become a source of fear. Mother, present these intentions before Jesus and ask Him to guide every step I take. Strengthen my heart with God's wisdom that: "Which of you, intending to build a tower, does not first sit down and estimate the cost, to see whether he has enough to complete it?" (Luke 14:28). May I receive the grace to plan carefully, count the cost, make responsible choices, and refuse decisions that would deepen my bondage. Give me patience to repay what I owe and wisdom to avoid returning to the same financial patterns that created this knot.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, untie the knot of hopelessness that debt has created within me. Untie the knot of shame that makes me afraid to face my financial reality. Untie the knot of confusion that prevents me from knowing where to begin. Untie the knot of impulsive decisions that keep me trapped. Untie the knot of fear that makes me believe that there will never be enough. Lead me to Jesus and ask Him to establish His wisdom within me. Strengthen my heart with God's promise that: "The hand of the diligent will rule, while the lazy will be put to forced labor" (Proverbs 12:24). May diligence become my path toward stability. Bless the work of my hands, give me opportunities to use my gifts, connect me with honest opportunities, and teach me to build slowly and faithfully. May every step I take toward financial responsibility become part of the undoing of this knot. Amen.
This Chaplet is prayed today for the knot of overwhelming debt and financial bondage. I place before Jesus every loan, unpaid bill, financial obligation, creditor, business difficulty, insufficient income, financial mistake, and fear concerning money. Through the maternal intercession of Mary, Undoer of Knots, I ask Jesus to give me wisdom, discipline, honest opportunities, provision, and the perseverance necessary to work toward financial freedom.
I now pray this Chaplet especially for the debt that weighs most heavily upon my heart, asking Jesus to help me face it with honesty, wisdom, faith, and responsible action.
Before beginning the Chaplet, I quietly name before God the debt or financial burden that concerns me most.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, take this financial burden into your maternal hands and present it before Jesus, trusting Him to guide me toward freedom according to God's holy will.

Holy Mother, beloved Undoer of Knots, I thank you for receiving the debt and financial burdens I have placed into your maternal hands. I surrender the amount I owe, the obligations I must meet, the mistakes I have made, and the circumstances I cannot control. May Jesus give me wisdom to face my financial situation honestly and courage to take the steps necessary to overcome it. May I never allow shame or fear to prevent me from seeking appropriate help, making responsible decisions, and faithfully working toward repayment.
Mother, continue to intercede for me as I walk toward financial freedom. May Jesus bless the work of my hands, increase my wisdom, open honest opportunities, and teach me to use every resource faithfully. May I become disciplined where I have been careless, content where I have been restless, patient where I have been impatient, and wise where I have previously made mistakes. Untie this knot according to God's holy will and lead me toward a life marked by responsibility, peace, generosity, and freedom. Amen.
O Mary, Undoer of Knots, intercede for me and untie the knot of overwhelming debt.
O Mary, Undoer of Knots, obtain for me wisdom, discipline, honest provision, and perseverance.
O Mary, Undoer of Knots, lead me to Jesus, that He may guide me from financial bondage toward responsible freedom and peace. Amen.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, Mother of Divine Providence, today I place into your maternal hands the debt that has become impossible for me to escape. You know every amount I owe, every bill that is waiting, every obligation that weighs upon me, and every fear that rises when I think about my financial future. You know the mistakes I regret, the circumstances I could not control, and the nights when I have wondered how I will ever become free from this burden. Mother, take this knot before Jesus and ask Him to give me wisdom and courage. Strengthen my heart with God's promise that: "Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established" (Proverbs 16:3). May I place my financial plans before God and faithfully do my part.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, untie the knot of financial confusion within me. Untie the knot of careless decisions, unnecessary spending, repeated borrowing, fear, shame, and discouragement. Ask Jesus to teach me how to manage what I have with wisdom and integrity. Strengthen my heart with God's promise that: "Those who seek the Lord lack no good thing" (Psalm 34:10). May I seek first what is good and necessary, use my resources responsibly, and remain open to the opportunities God provides. Give me courage to face my obligations instead of running from them, humility to seek wise counsel, and discipline to follow a realistic path toward repayment and stability.
Beloved Mother, carry my financial future before Jesus. I surrender the debt I cannot solve today, the income I do not yet have, the opportunities I have not yet received, and the solutions I cannot yet see. If there is a door You desire to open, lead me toward it; if there is a habit I must change, give me strength to change it; if there is a lesson I must learn, give me humility to receive it; and if there is a responsibility I must patiently fulfill, give me perseverance. Strengthen my heart with God's promise that: "The blessing of the Lord makes rich, and He adds no sorrow with it" (Proverbs 10:22). May every financial step I take be guided by wisdom, honesty, diligence, and peace. Mary, Undoer of Knots, lead me to Jesus until this burden no longer controls my life and until I can use what God provides with gratitude, responsibility, and generosity. Amen.
Mary, my Mother, I surrender to Jesus every debt that has frightened me and every financial responsibility that has become overwhelming. I surrender my calculations, my fears, my regrets, my plans, and my uncertainty about tomorrow. I ask for neither careless promises nor unrealistic expectations, but for wisdom to know what I must do and grace to faithfully do it. May I remember God's command that: "Let all things be done decently and in order" (1 Corinthians 14:40). Teach me to bring order where there has been financial confusion and responsibility where there has been carelessness.
Mother Mary, help me surrender my financial future without surrendering my responsibility. May Jesus give me patience to rebuild gradually, courage to make sacrifices, and faith to continue even when progress appears small. I place my work, my abilities, my opportunities, and my resources into His hands. May He guide me toward honest provision and teach me to become a faithful steward of everything entrusted to me. Amen.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, as I complete this thirteenth day, I leave my debt in your maternal hands. I refuse to allow shame to become my identity or fear to control my decisions. I surrender the burden while accepting the responsibility to act wisely. May Jesus give me clarity concerning what I must change, strength to fulfill my obligations, and perseverance to continue until I experience greater stability.
Mother, remain beside me throughout this financial journey. When progress is slow, keep me patient. When temptation comes to return to old habits, keep me disciplined. When an honest opportunity appears, give me wisdom to recognize it. When I make a mistake, help me correct it rather than surrendering to despair. Through your maternal intercession, may Jesus untie this knot according to God's perfect will and lead me toward a life of financial responsibility, peace, generosity, and freedom. Amen.
