DAY 12: THE KNOT OF REPEATEDLY LOST OPPORTUNITIES AND PERSISTENT FAILURE
For the grace to surrender to Mary, Undoer of Knots, every opportunity that has repeatedly slipped away, every door that has closed, every effort that has ended in disappointment, every failure that has weakened my confidence, and every season of persistent frustration and stagnation. May Jesus Christ untie every knot of repeated disappointment, restore my courage, give me wisdom to recognize the opportunities He places before me, open the doors that are according to His will, and teach me to persevere without losing faith in His purpose for my life.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Hope and my loving Mother, today I place into your maternal hands every opportunity I have lost and every failure that continues to weigh upon my heart. You know the opportunities I prayed for but never received, the doors that seemed to open and then suddenly closed, the applications that were rejected, the plans that failed, the efforts that produced no result, and the moments when I wondered why things seem to work for others while my own efforts repeatedly end in disappointment. Mother, you know how discouraging it can be to keep trying and still find myself standing in the same place. I bring you every disappointment, every missed opportunity, and every painful memory of failure, asking you to carry them before Jesus. Strengthen my heart with God's promise that: "At the proper time we will reap, if we do not give up" (cf. Galatians 6:9). May I receive this promise personally and find the courage to continue doing what is good without allowing repeated disappointment to destroy my hope.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, when I begin to believe that my opportunities have passed and that my failures have already determined my future, lead me back to Jesus. Remind me that God's ways are higher than mine and that He can bring something new even when I cannot yet see it. Strengthen my heart with God's promise that: "I am about to do a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?" (Isaiah 43:19). Mother, help me not to remain imprisoned by what went wrong yesterday. Obtain for me wisdom to learn from every failure without allowing failure to become my identity. Teach me to recognize God's timing, to prepare faithfully while I wait, and to trust that a closed door does not mean that God has abandoned me. Amen.
"Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established."
Proverbs 16:3
There is a particular pain that comes from repeatedly losing opportunities. I may have prepared carefully, prayed sincerely, worked hard, and believed that something was finally going to change, only to watch the opportunity disappear again. Perhaps I have applied for jobs and received rejection after rejection. Perhaps I have attempted to build something and watched it fail. Perhaps relationships, business opportunities, studies, financial breakthroughs, or important plans have repeatedly collapsed just when I thought they were about to succeed. After enough disappointments, I can begin to question myself and wonder whether something is fundamentally wrong with my life. Yet repeated failure is not the same thing as being a failure. A disappointing season does not have the authority to define my identity or determine my future.
Scripture shows me that God's servants also experienced seasons when their efforts appeared fruitless. Peter and the other disciples worked throughout the night and caught nothing, yet Jesus came to them in the place of their disappointment and transformed their empty nets into an extraordinary catch (Luke 5:1–11). David was anointed for kingship while still young, yet he passed through years of waiting, rejection, danger, and uncertainty before the promise unfolded. Joseph received dreams from God, but his journey included betrayal, slavery, false accusation, and imprisonment before he reached the position God had prepared for him (Genesis 37–41). These stories teach me that delay is not necessarily denial, and a difficult journey does not mean that God's purpose has failed.
Today I place every repeatedly lost opportunity and every persistent failure before Jesus. I surrender the opportunities I desperately wanted, the doors I expected to remain open, the plans that collapsed, and the seasons in which I felt that I was making no progress. Through the maternal intercession of Mary, Undoer of Knots, I ask Jesus to remove whatever truly needs to be removed from my path, correct whatever needs to be corrected within me, and open whatever door He desires me to enter. May He give me discernment to recognize the difference between a door I should patiently pursue and a door I must peacefully release. May every failure teach me wisdom rather than produce despair, and may every delay deepen my dependence upon God rather than weaken my faith.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, Mother of Hope, today I place into your maternal hands every opportunity that has repeatedly slipped away from me. I bring you the opportunities that came close but disappeared, the applications that were rejected, the plans that failed, the investments that did not succeed, the examinations that did not produce the results I hoped for, the relationships that ended unexpectedly, and every door that seemed promising but closed before I could enter. Mother, you know how many times I have started again after disappointment and how difficult it has become to hope for something new. Take these knots before Jesus and ask Him to heal the discouragement created by repeated failure. Strengthen my heart with God's promise that: "The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but everyone who is hasty comes only to want" (Proverbs 21:5). May Jesus teach me diligence, patience, wisdom, and perseverance.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, I ask you to intercede for me where repeated failure has affected the way I see myself. When rejection tells me that I am not capable, remind me of the dignity God has given me. When disappointment tells me that I should stop trying, obtain for me the wisdom to discern whether God is asking me to persevere, change direction, or wait. Strengthen my heart with God's promise that: "The righteous falls seven times and rises again" (Proverbs 24:16). May I rise again through the grace of Jesus. If I have made mistakes, give me humility to learn from them. If I have acted without wisdom, give me understanding. If I have been impatient, teach me patience. If I have neglected preparation, give me discipline. And if circumstances beyond my control have closed doors before me, give me peace and courage to trust Your providence.
Mary, I now place before you the particular opportunities I have lost and the areas of my life where I have experienced persistent failure. (Mention them silently before God.) I bring the job I did not receive, the business that did not succeed, the opportunity that was given to someone else, the relationship that ended, the examination I failed, the project that collapsed, the financial opportunity that disappeared, and every other disappointment that still hurts when I remember it. Mother, carry each intention before Jesus and ask Him to reveal what I need to learn, what I need to change, what I need to surrender, and where I need to persevere. Strengthen my heart with God's promise that: "No good thing does the Lord withhold from those who walk uprightly" (Psalm 84:11). May I trust that what God truly desires for my life will not be lost through His inability to provide, but may I also have the wisdom to accept that His good plan may not always look like the opportunity I originally wanted.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, untie the knot of discouragement that has formed through repeated disappointment. Untie the knot of self-doubt that tells me I will always fail. Untie the knot of comparison that makes me measure my life against the success of others. Untie the knot of impatience that makes me want to force doors open before God's time. Untie the knot of fear that prevents me from trying again. Mother, ask Jesus to restore my courage and teach me to begin again with greater wisdom. Strengthen my heart with God's promise that: "The path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day" (Proverbs 4:18). May my journey become brighter according to God's timing. May every lesson make me wiser, every disappointment make me stronger, and every delay teach me deeper trust. Lead me to the opportunities that are truly from God and give me the humility to release every door that He does not want me to enter. Amen.
This Chaplet is prayed today for every opportunity that has repeatedly been lost and every failure that has become a source of discouragement. I place before Jesus every closed door, every rejection, every unsuccessful attempt, every delayed opportunity, every plan that collapsed, and every situation that has made me wonder whether my life will ever move forward. Through the maternal intercession of Mary, Undoer of Knots, I ask Jesus to untie every knot of discouragement, reveal what I need to learn, restore my courage, and guide me toward the doors that are according to God's holy will.
I now pray this Chaplet especially for the areas of my life where I have experienced repeated disappointment and persistent failure, trusting that Jesus can bring wisdom out of failure, strength out of disappointment, and a new beginning out of what appears to be an ending.
Before beginning the Chaplet, I quietly name before God the opportunity or area of persistent failure that weighs most heavily upon my heart today.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, take this disappointment into your maternal hands and present it before Jesus, asking Him to guide my steps according to the Father's perfect will.
Mother Mary, Undoer of Knots, I come before you carrying the disappointment of opportunities that have repeatedly slipped away. I place before you every rejection, every failed attempt, every closed door, and every season in which I have worked hard without seeing the result I hoped for. Lead me to Jesus and obtain for me the grace to learn from every disappointment without losing hope. May He renew my courage and guide me toward His purpose for my life. Amen.

Holy Mother, beloved Undoer of Knots, I thank you for receiving every disappointment and every lost opportunity that I have placed into your maternal hands. I surrender the opportunities I wanted, the doors that closed, the efforts that failed, and the seasons in which I could not understand why nothing seemed to work. May Jesus heal the disappointment that has settled within my heart and restore the courage I need to continue. May I learn from my failures without becoming defined by them, and may every closed door teach me greater wisdom and deeper trust in God's providence.
Mother, keep leading me toward Jesus as I continue this journey. May He open the doors that are truly according to His will and give me peace concerning every door that must remain closed. May He prepare me for the opportunities He has appointed for me and give me the wisdom to recognize them when they come. Strengthen my heart with God's promise that: "He makes everything beautiful in its time" (Ecclesiastes 3:11). May I trust His timing, remain faithful in preparation, and never surrender hope because of yesterday's disappointments. Amen.
O Mary, Undoer of Knots, intercede for me and untie every knot of repeatedly lost opportunities and persistent failure.
O Mary, Undoer of Knots, obtain for me wisdom to learn, courage to begin again, and perseverance to continue.
O Mary, Undoer of Knots, lead me to the doors that Jesus desires me to enter and give me peace concerning every door He asks me to leave behind. Amen.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, Mother of Hope, today I place into your maternal hands every opportunity I have lost and every failure that has wounded my confidence. You know the opportunities I prayed for, prepared for, and hoped would change my circumstances, only to watch them disappear. You know the applications that were rejected, the plans that collapsed, the doors that closed, and the moments when I wondered why my efforts repeatedly end in disappointment. Mother, take these painful memories before Jesus and ask Him to heal the discouragement they have created within me. Strengthen my heart with God's promise that: "The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me" (Psalm 138:8). May I trust that my life remains in God's hands even when I cannot understand the path before me.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, untie the knot of persistent failure that has made me afraid to try again. Untie the knot of comparison that makes me feel left behind when I see others succeeding. Untie the knot of self-doubt that tells me I am incapable of achieving anything meaningful. Untie the knot of impatience that makes me want to force doors open before God's appointed time. Ask Jesus to show me where I need to grow, where I need to change direction, where I need to persevere, and where I simply need to wait. Strengthen my heart with God's promise that: "He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding" (Daniel 2:21). May Jesus give me the wisdom I need to recognize the opportunities that come from Him and the humility to release those that do not.
Beloved Mother, carry my future before Jesus. I surrender the opportunities I have lost, the ones I am waiting for, and the ones I have not yet seen. May Jesus restore my courage, renew my strength, and guide my steps toward the purpose He has prepared for me. If I must begin again, give me courage. If I must prepare more, give me discipline. If I must wait, give me patience. If I must change direction, give me wisdom. If I must let go, give me peace. Strengthen my heart with God's promise that: "The steps of a man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way" (Psalm 37:23). Mary, Undoer of Knots, lead me to Jesus and help me trust Him with my opportunities, my failures, my future, and my entire life. Amen.
Mary, my Mother, I surrender to Jesus every opportunity I have lost and every failure that I still carry in my heart. I surrender the questions I have asked, the disappointments I have experienced, and the fear that perhaps my best days have already passed. I surrender my desire to understand why some doors closed and why some opportunities went to others. Strengthen my heart with God's promise that: "The Lord directs the steps of the strong; He delights in every detail of their lives" (cf. Psalm 37:23). May I trust God enough to allow Him to direct my steps rather than trying to control every outcome.
Mother Mary, teach me to surrender without becoming passive and to persevere without becoming anxious. Help me prepare faithfully for what God may place before me, while remaining peaceful about what I cannot control. May Jesus remove from me the fear of another failure and replace it with confidence in His providence. I place my future into His hands and ask only for the grace to recognize His will and faithfully follow it. Amen.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, as I complete this twelfth day, I leave every lost opportunity and every painful failure in your maternal hands. I no longer want yesterday's disappointment to determine how I see tomorrow. I surrender the doors that closed, the plans that failed, and the opportunities that passed me by. May Jesus heal the wounds created by rejection and restore within me the courage to believe that He is still writing my story.
Mother, remain beside me as I continue this journey. When another opportunity comes, help me recognize it. When another door closes, help me accept it without despair. When another challenge appears, give me courage to face it. May I never confuse a temporary failure with a permanent destiny. Through your maternal intercession, may Jesus guide my steps, establish the work of my hands, and lead me according to the Father's perfect will. Amen.
